Below are some of the things I am interested in. The lists are in no
particular order.
Current
- Disc golf: We started playing in 2009, and we are having
a blast.
- Cross country skiing: We typically go out several times
during the winter. We often go to the Wind River area and to Mt. Hood.
- Motorcycling: I commute to and from work five days a
week, pretty much in any kind of weather (though I prefer windy and cold
over sunny and boiling hot).
- Technology: I enjoy thinking and talking about
technology, especially computer/web related technologies. I am not a gadget
geek.
- Board games: We enjoy Euro-style board games. (See also:
our
games)
- Reading: I read all kinds of books: fiction,
non-fiction, technical, business, graphic novels, poems, plays, etc.
- Geocaching: I use a little handheld Garmin GPS
receiver. Who doesn't love a treasure hunt!?
Future
- Kayaking: We'll try Vancouver Lake first.
- Sailing: I have a strong suspicion I will love this.
Past
- Aviation: I hold a private pilot certificate (PP-ASEL,
Instrument). We owned a Piper Warrior II from 2004 to 2008.
- Amateur Radio: I hold a US General Class license with
call sign KG6KLF. I am especially interested in designing and building my
own CW gear. I am not currently active.
- Electronics: I am interested in microcontrollers,
especially PIC and Atmel chips. During college, I participated in the IEEE
Micromouse contest.
- Racquetball: We played (just for fun) from around 2005
to 2007.
- Bicycling: I'm having trouble finding good, safe roads
to ride on, and I don't ride much anymore.
